Benefit Dinner Dance October 25, 2003 - Peace is a Group Effort
FJWEC sponsored a Dinner Dance to help with the cost of donated items to John William Education Center (JWMS) and support the HIV / AIDS Awareness and Conflict Resolution Programs.
The keynote speaker was Carolyn Keys, LCSW, who gave a most informative presentation: Peacemaking in Burundi and Rwanda.
A tribute was offered to our recently deceased strong supporter Dolores Hinds.
Awards of Appreciation were given to:
Monica M. Westin, RN
Benjamin D. Dodoo, MD
William Kwaku Ofori Boah, MD
Cheryl A. Burton, DSW
Monica Westin reported that many people who attended the dinner commented on how much they enjoyed themselves - the food music and program were all quite good. The feeling was more of attending a party than of attending a usual fund-raising event. Nana-Fosu Randall reported that many people had told her that they would be more than ready to attend the next time we plan such an event.
